A 19-year-old man, Kwabena Mensah and his 36-year-old mason friend, Akwasi Agyei are facing trial for conniving to steal an ore of gold weighing about 1.20 kilograms from a shrine.

It is alleged that the gods in whose custody the gold had been kept for spiritual purification later revealed the thieves to the fetish priestess, Lovia  Cobbina who happens to be the sister of the 19-year-old Kwabena Mensah.

The owner had reportedly brought the gold to the shrine on July 31, 2017, to undergo purification rituals before it is sold to a dealer in Kumasi.
